I was in Rita’s store looking at some of her new pieces. There was a jewelry set that caught my eye: The chrysanthemum stone earring and necklace set. I couldn’t take my eyes off of them. The bail and setting was shaped like a heart and two toned in copper and gold-filled wire wrapping. I new nothing of the properties but I was drawn to its energy. It made me feel calm and my thought pattern was a bit clearer. I had a lot on my mind and I was embarking on some life changing decisions.

The Chrysanthemum stone has some interesting properties:

Allows one to connect with the joy of creation expression and manifestation.
Assists in overcoming fear of limitation.
Helps in achieving the soul’s purpose.

Life, at least an eventful one, is always in flux; so many challenges and so many changes to make.

I know Rita, many of her pieces call to its owner. There are occasions where Rita thinks of someone who can use that particular piece. So her jewelry is not only handmade, but customized for its new owner.

For me, I have recently opened a new business and started writing once again. More ideas have flooded to my mind since my purchase. It’s as if I am being guided.

Belly Dancing for Good Health

Ahva Halma has been a Bellydancer for 35 years and a Hula dancer for 25 years and is certified in Masala Bhangra. Ahva is a Registered Nurse and Yogafit trained. Dance is her passion and she has dedicated her life to it.

Ahva has been teaching belly dancing classes at the butterfly rainbow center monthly. She wishes to teach this form of dance to as many people as she can. Belly Dancing is unlike most forms of aerobic classes. The movements that are taught come natural to the female form and it has a wealth of health benefits too.

Belly dancing an help with weight-loss, it tones not only the abdominal area, it tones the arms, back and pelvis. Rita Taylor stated that though many people think belly dancing looks hard, the movements flow easily and is a natural motion that anyone can do.

In my research, I found many know belly dancing as a middle-eastern form of folklore dance that seems to be catching on more and more in our western culture. The graceful movements seem to flow naturally and they do. Other form of dance work against the body and can do harm to muscles and joints.

Belly dancing has many health benefits besides toning of muscles:

Weight loss
Combined with a healthy diet that involves sensible eating, belly dancing can without a doubt be part of a sound weight loss program.

Preparation for childbirth
The movements of belly dancing make an excellent prenatal exercise regimen that strengthens the muscles used during the childbirth process.

In this day and age of almost continuous stress, the subtle rhythms of belly dancing and the traditional movements are calming.

Belly-dancers use their torsos a lot-much more than ballet, modern or tap dancers.

Magick 101: Shielding/Grounding and Protection

Castole teaches a class every month called Magick 101. It seems to be such a broad topic and YES it is a broad topic. Magick 101 is given monthly at the Butterfly Rainbow Center which is more of a class series rather than a single class.

This month she will go over shielding, grounding and protection. She will be using a variety of mediums: natures energies, own energies, herbs, stones and crystals.

Shielding: to create a barrier around you to deflect unwanted energies from coming into you. Grounding: dispelling unwanted energies away from yourself and putting back into the earth.
Protection is creating a temporary barrier to have around you when you are doing magick.

When you are working with magick, you need to protect your own energy. As you use magick or any other kind of energy work, you raise your vibration in order to do the work. When you raise your vibration you are becoming more sensitive to all other energy around you. Without protecting yourself first, you can become tired and run down more easily.

Castole with delve into this subject matter more deeply and this techniques are a must for anyone who meditates, connects with other entities or any magical workings. This techniques should not only be learned, but mastered.

Singing Bowls

Rita and I sat in her singing bowl room to talk about how they can benefit in a person's natural healing. As many questions I could think about asking, nothing compared to experiencing them for myself. Rita picked up a bowl seemingly at random and began to play it for me. I shut my eyes and I could feel the vibrations into my abdomen and my lower back. This was the very area of my body that I injured in a car accident two months ago.

I felt as if a knot that was in my back untied itself while the bowls sung their song. I also felt a release in the pressure of my abdomen. I felt relaxed and was at peace. She gave me the opportunity to play one for myself. She had me pick a bowl and I chose a gorgeous ocean blue colored bowl. It took a little practice before I can get the right sound from it but when I finally got it to work, I felt an almost electric charge coming out of the bowl and it traveled through my arm and through my body.

The vibration was amazing and I felt like it took me away for a moment. I felt my soul leap upwards and for a brief moment I sensed I was walking among the stars and I came back as soon as the bowl's vibration ended. All stress left my body and I felt better than I ever have felt in a long time. My energy came back and it was like a took a good nap and was refreshed.

Rita explained , “The consciousness of the bowls connects with the clients.”

Rita first came across singing bowls while she was in Thailand. She loved the sound of the Tibetan singing bowls. When she came across the Alchemy crystal singing bowls she felt that the vibration goes a bit deeper. Crystal does have a higher vibration from medal. Each bowl gives a different tone and it affects a different chakra.

How does Rita chose the ones to use. Simply put, they talk to her. Each vibration speaks to a different part of a body and when she is with a client, they can tell her which one each client needs to hear. From my personal experience, I can tell you that it's definitely true. When I chose a bowl to work with it wasn't like I had to compare them, pick them up or even touch them. I was drawn to one and it's tone matched my needs. It's was a truly treasured experience.

Drum Circles

Drum circles and both fun and relaxing. It evokes a positive feeling and help you connect spiritually. When the group gets into it the rhythm dissolves away all the stresses of your day and helps you to let o of all negative thought.

The first time I was at a drum circle it was at a beach in Florida. The drums echoed across the beach and beckoned those who passed by to join in the festivities. It was an amazing sound when the drums moved with the rhythm of the ocean. The waves crashing with the beat of the music and people began to dance. It was amazing.

The Butterfly Rainbow Center has their own drum circle. The center has an amazing energy all its own and when you add in a few drums in will evoke that same feeling I got from the beach that night. Come and join us and you lose all your stresses in the beat of the music.

Dream Interpretations

Everyone dreams but not everyone is curious as to why we dream. Are they visions from our day? Are they thoughts about the future? Can we truly remember them in an awakened state? There are many books written about dreams from many points of view.

I have always been curious about dreams that could seem real to me. How do I interpret them? Thomas Huntszincker is giving a Dream Workshop on December 12^th. In this seminar you will learn basic techniques for improving dream recall, lucid dreaming, dream journals, and applications for use in daily life.

Learn from your dreams. I believe that they all have messages in them that can help us. There are also some crystals that can be used to channel your dreams and maybe put a negative dream into a positive light.

Jade is a sacred stone from the Orient and it represents purity and serenity. It is also called a dream stone. When you place it on the soma chakra it brings insightful dreams.

Cassiterite assists in manifesting your dreams it uses a mathematical precision needed to see into the heart of a problem, objectively perceiving how and why things are the way they are. Cassiterite dissolves the resulting pain.

The Flu Season and Natural Healing

I bet you are wondering while I have not written in a while. I was one of the ones in the area that came down with the H1N1 virus and pneumonia. I have a high respect for all medical practitioners. With all the skill of our local hospital, they have not been able to cure me. So I am still home and still resting for the past month. My employer does not recognize a diagnosis from an acupuncturist so I kept seeing an MD.

The general frustration has taken over and I find myself doing less not only because I am ill but I am all depressed. It's time to think outside the box. After research into the flu shots, tamiflu medicines and antibiotics, there is only one conclusion I can draw. I need to find another way.

I am and always have been a believer in natural medicine. Forget the antibiotics and the probing blood tests they may have helped others but not me. Not this time. The cure needs to come from another level.. Natural medicine works on a different level. How do we get all the parts of the body to work in harmony? Acupuncture releases heat from areas in the body that have blocked energy. Sometimes unblocking a clog can bring the body back to is natural state and able to fight disease.

Lets take apart that word disease. Dis-Ease or to be without ease. Is this clearer? Can you bring a feeling of ease to your body to cure it.? The answer is yes. The answer lies in action to do something else to try something different. Your body is capable of curing itself. The human body is one of the most fascinating organisms in the world. It reflects everything that is going on around you. Take care of your body and it will always take care of you.

As for dis-ease, is it a wonder why such a harsh flu exists? Is our world at ease? No, it is not. Lets all start with ourselves. The rest will follow. Try something new to bring ease back to your body. There are many ways: Reiki, Acupuncture, meditation, herbal remedies are to name a few. Look into dietary supplements as well. Coconut Milk and Ginger tea both are know to kill viruses and infections. With the cost of healthcare can we really afford not to look to other means of fighting dis-ease?

Interview with a Medium

Last week I was a bit nervous…no terrified. I was having my first radio interview. I was an incredible experience especially since I first thought it was a local Florida Radio station called http://www.wrpbitv.com/ I was on a show called the Mystic Holistic Hour with Jana Krause. I was surprised when we had callers from Texas, Colorado, California and Illinois. I later found out that the station is aired world wide and they have over 30,000 viewers and growing.

I was asked where I run classes and about a book that I have barely started to write. I told them about the Butterfly Rainbow Center in Sioux Falls. They raved about the name and stated how they felt its energy and without seeing it, they know that it’s a needed center in the area.

I was intrigued by the questions that came in from both men and women. Many of the questions were about having relationships when you have a psychic ability. The callers should meet Rita and Randy. They both use their gifts and they share a wonderful relationship. I feel if you hide your gifts and try to be something your not, your relationship will not last.

There were a couple of people who kept asking me if my spouse is supportive of me with my gifts and how did I meet such a person. Well, it’s easy. If you find that you are in a relationship and this a person you want around and want to love, then you have to let them know exactly who you are. If you find them wanting you to hide who you are in anyway, maybe this person should not be in your life.

A dating example I gave was when I met people for the first time, I would meet them in a public place of course and my choice of places was a bookstore like Barns and Noble and I would tell them to meet me in a particular area of the store. I would tell them something like ‘meet me on the second floor by the elevator.’ My date would find me in the Spiritual section and I would be reading a Carolyn Myss book or thumbing through a crystal book. If they tuned around and left or didn’t call back after that first meeting that it wasn’t meant to be.

Compatibility is the key with any relationship. If your partner is not supportive of your growth or vice versa maybe the relationship isn’t worth pursuing. This goes for psychics, rescue workers, police, fire fighters, teachers, etc. look for someone who will want to help you grow as an individual as well as couple. I would also suggest having some Rose Quartz in the relationship corner of your home.

A Time for Growth

Crystal grids can be empowering. It's purpose can be anything you want it to be from healing an ailment you may have, relaxation, meditation and goal setting are just a few of it's functions. The sky is the limit and the stones you use can be anything that will fulfill your needs. We created a small one at the Butterfly Rainbow Center when the idea of moving it's location began to come in to fruition. Around that time I saw a gorgeous rainbow over Sioux Falls. I just had to take some pictures of it. Looking back, it was the first sign of change. The rainbow was the largest I have seen in years. I caught myself looking for the butterflies but I couldn't find any.

There is a time where we must follow a new path for enlightenment and growth. That is what is happening at the Butterfly Rainbow Center. Many more people have found us and are asking for more; more programs, more crystals and more space! Our new center will be bigger and a lot of mediating on this was done to make the move happen. This is a move into a bright future and many more people finding their way to the center.

At the center we have a large grid on display and there was a day we decided to create a small one so we can sit around it and feel the vibes that we can create. There were a variety of stones we used: Smoky Quartz, Moldavite, Malachite, Amethyst, Lepidolite, and Clear Quartz. We didn't have a function we wanted to create, just a thought of what would these stones feel like in a grid.

We felt relaxed and giggly for the most part and for me my stress seemed to just disappear. For the most part of what I was stressing about before we started working with the grid was gone. We just had fun with the energy we had created. As you can see from the picture below, we were all barefoot and we felt the grid's energy flow though our bodies right from our toes.

As you think about the change the center is embarking upon, every stone we used that day was about direction, growth and change. I believe everything happens for a reason and a purpose and the choices we made for the grid really did serve us well for the months ahead.

There are several books on how to create a grid or you can use any stones you wish to create your own as we did.

A grid is a tool to create something positive for the moment or the future. Remember, everything you chose has a reason and a purpose. Does having a grid create a future? No, but it does help you set an intention for what you want in your life.

As for our constantly changing grid, here are some of the meanings of the crystals we have used:

Smoky Quartz – A grounding stone that acts that also raises vibrations.

Moldavite – unconventional and inspiring, bringing the unexpected solution forward.

Malachite – The stone of transformation

Amethyst – promotes emotional centering

Lepidolite – reorganizes old psychological and behavioral patterns, inducing change. It's known as the stone of transition.

Clear Quartz – the most powerful energy healing and amplifier. It also cleanses energy.

It's no wonderful we were giggling with laughter that day and we all let the room in a good mood. I can only speak for myself. I felt as though I can take on the world and no problem was too big for me to handle.

Smoky Quartz is a gentle grounding stone and raises vibrations at the same time during meditation. Smokey Quartz is a protective stone and has a strong link to the base chakras. It is a great stone to use for stress relief. It assists in detoxification at all levels. On the psychological level it relieves fear and lifts depression. Mentally it promotes positive thought.

With all this in mind it is a stone that is meant for these times. Many are fearful and depressed due to the economy. If we can all use this stone to improve our outlook, maybe the energies that are driving these difficult times will turn around. Cosmic Moldavite

Moldavite was created when a giant meteorite struck the earth. The heat impacted with the surrounding rocks and formed a vast field of emerald green crystals. So Moldavite is a combination of extraterrestrial and earth energies. This is a rare stone. It is found along the banks of Moldava Germany and is unlikely to be found anywhere in the world. It is said that the crystal will become extinct.

Moldavite can enhance other crystals and take them to their highest vibration. Many believe that Moldavite came to aid in the earth's transition. The time has come to use it's energy wisely.

Moldavite brings you in communication with your higher self and with extraterrestrials. It can also bring you in touch with your Ascended Masters as well as cosmic messages.

Essential Oils Repel Bugs

It's summertime and we want to be outside but what we don't want are the bug bites. Many will run to the store and by insect repellent ans spray it on themselves and tier children. Is this a good thing? You are spraying poison on you and those you love. Yes, bug spray is a poison that kills bugs and though it will not kill a person, it will weaken your immune system. This is not a good thing. Now what about the candles and the new bug repellent that will sit on your belt buckle. You can't see it or smell it and yes the poison is still getting into your body.

What's a better choice?

There are many herbs that are GOOD for you that will deter bugs:

Beeswax candles instead of citronella candles – they smell better deter bugs and are good for you too.

Oils that deter crawling bugs:
peppermint
thyme
lemongrass
lavender
geranium

Herbs that repel mosquitoes:
cedarwood
geranium
clove
lemongrass
eucalyptus

Making Lemonade

There are challenges we face everyday. Many of us have lost our jobs and find ourselves feeling lost and alone. Some of us took a drastic approach to being re-employed and moved to a new area or state. Some of us who wanted to hold down our jobs had the wonderful offer of staying for half pay and felt half was better than nothing. These are the lemons that our recession has given us.

This crisis has forced us to look at ourselves differently. Find a new career or open a business to make something extra. This is were we start making our lemonade. The world crisis is an extension of the individuals. When life hands us lemons we have but two choices: making lemonade or letting the lemons fall to the ground, rot and grow a whole new lemon tree. Now to do you think we need more lemons? I don't think so.

It's time to look within to change ourselves, mediate and find inner peace. What we are inside will reflect on the world. Use some Lepidolite to meditate with. Use it's healing power to help you though that blocked feeling. Using this particular stone when asking for healing for your future will help move you forward. Have you heard of Essential Oils? I was curious about the history behind them so I checked it out at the Young Living Website and found some interesting details on their uses.
Essential oils are considered mankind’s first medicine and have been used around the world for centuries. Essential oils and other aromatics have been used in religious rituals, to treat various illnesses, and for other physical and spiritual needs.
Research dates the use of essential oils back to 4500 BC. Ancient Egyptians were the first to discover the potential of fragrance, and records demonstrate that oils and aromatics were used for treating illness and performing rituals and religious ceremonies in temples and pyramids. In fact, three oils that are still commonly used today—cedarwood, myrrh, and frankincense—were used in the embalming process.

It when you are at your lowest point you have the most help form your angels, it's a matter of learning how to communicate with them. There are also many tools to help you connect with either your higher self, your angels or those who passed on.

Last month, I wrote a message from the angels and posted it on the website. It's something I learned how to do over 10 years ago. There are a few things I use to get started to clear my mind before I begin, say a prayer then ask a question. I'll sit quietly maybe listen to light music or have a candle burning, sometimes I leave a notebook by my bed because I know eventually I'll wake up in the middle of the night and I'll just let go and write. Once the answer comes it's like the pen I'm using has a mind of it's own. I may write a few words, draw a picture or write several pages. I the end of it, I'll thank them for my message and read it to see what they wrote me. It never ceases to amaze me that no matter how long it took to get that message, it would answer my question. Sometimes it's a confirmation of my own decision and sometimes it's a message to tell me to take another approach. For me, it's like calling a close friend for advise.

I will also use other methods when I don't have a notebook around. I'll use angel cards, medicine cards or sometimes I'll ask a question and open a crystal book to a random page. The answers to my questions are in front of me!

A Rose is a Rose...

Hmm...not really rose quartz is not a flower that grows out of the ground but a powerful crystal of unconditional love and peace. When you place the rose quartz in the relationship corner of your home, it draws loving relationships to you. It restores love and harmony and and draws away negative energy.

The rose quartz is a great healer. It draws out unexpressed emotions, heartache and any emotions that no longer serves positively to an individual. Rose Quartz is a good stone for someone who has trouble loving themselves or accepting love from another because they do not believe that they are worthy of being loved.

When used to heal the body, Rose Quartz strengthens the physical heart and circulatory systems and releases impurities from the body fluids. When it is placed on the thymus, Rose Quartz aids chest and lung issues. Rose Quartz is said to increase fertility.

An ordinary rose flower is a symbol of love and friendship but a rose quartz stone is so much more. When I wear Rose Quartz, there's a feeling of serenity that comes over me. Stress falls away and the power of positive feelings comes into play. Carry some with you at all times and you will find that negative thoughts will not enter your mind.

The World of Amethyst

I've always been attracted to Amethyst. It's a beautiful crystal. My family always gave me Amethyst jewelry because it was my birthstone. I love the fact that it comes in many shades. As I grew up I decided to research it.

It an extremely high vibration stone which protect from psychic attacks. It's also used to help block stress and calms the mind during mediation. It can calm the nerves and help you focus on important decisions . It's helpful in mediation and promotes love of the divine. It balances the highs and the lows and dispels feelings of anger. Sleeping with amethyst stimulates out-of-body experiences.

There are many uses for Amethyst in healing. It cleans the blood strengthens the digestive tract, eases headaches and migraines, reduces bruising from injuries. On a subtle level, it links the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. It also cleans the aura and clears the third eye and throat chakras.

With all that is going on in the world, I believe everyone can benefit from using Amethyst. There are many forms from around the world such as Brazil, Bolivia and South Africa. There are Amethyst crystals and clusters, you can also find it in Spirit Quarts. When Amethyst is combined with Citrine to form Ametrine, it is even more powerful. But you don't have to know all it can do for you to feel the difference when you are around it, all you have to do is hold a piece of it in your hand and close your eyes. You will feel it balancing you on many levels.

The Lemurian Seed Crystal

I first saw the Lemurian Seed Crystal when Rita put it on display at the Women's Lifestyle Conference in January. It was a stunning piece. During the course of the day, my husband surprised me with the crystal as a gift. I had an immediate connection with the crystal. It felt powerful and kept me focused while I did readings for many people during the conference while Rita and Randy sold their handmade jewelry.

I find myself wearing it when I need to deepen my connection during meditations and automatic writing. Because I knew very little about the stone and wanted to learn more about it, I began researching them and I would like to share my findings and thoughts with you.

Lemuria existed around the same time as Atlantis. Unlike the scientific Atlanteans they were a more spiritual group that believed in universal harmony. Some say that now is a time of re-awakening of the Lemurian ways. The crystals were placed around the world and they were programmed to transmit frequencies to other crystals that were created throughout time. They are said to transmit a sense of oneness, unity and equality, which are the foundation for love.

In my work as a medium and a spiritual teacher, it is important to come from a place of love when I connect with my guides. When it comes from logic, it simply doesn't work. The Lemurian seed crystal helps give me a sense of calmness needed to do a mediation. Wearing one during my mediations and classes, I can feel a connection to both the earth and the stars. It is also said that these crystals are not fully activated yet. So as time goes on, we just may find that it gives new energies.

During my prayers I can see this connection building throughout the world. I know most people cannot see it because the media tends to focus on the negative. When you look around, you can see that families and friends are talking more often and people are pulling together more to keep their lives in balance. I see this as a connection to each other as loving beings and not as a sign of desperation and turmoil.

Randy and I are leaving today for a short trip down to Omaha...to see Krishna Das. I haven't seen him in person for 8 years. Wow! I'm so looking forward to it. He was my introduction to Kirtan.
Since that time, it has just been a part of my life...having a chant running around in my head all day.
So many times chanting has allowed me to focus and relax my mind. I am so grateful for it!!

Dear Angels,

What does the world need to know now for the times ahead?

Dear Ones,
The answer is simple; do not look toward riches to make your lives work. Look instead to those you have not made time for in a while. Now is the time people need to come together to support one another. In the not too distant pat, people thought only of themselves and what was important only to them. Look to your neighbor. What do they need to make their lives fuller? What can you DO for THEM and not ask for anything in return. It is in the good deeds that you do that will make your life richer in return.

So many are afraid, so many believe that this world will end but in reality, you are just beginning a new journey to another level. Please remember we are not far from you and we will always be there with you. In the times ahead when you feel that you are alone, close your eyes and just breathe, clear your mind and you will sense our presence. Let go of fear, let go of the past, your hate and your despair and let us take those things from you. Let happiness beam out from your hearts and this will wrap itself around the earth bring about the peace you all hope for.

The answer for change is in you individually and not up to those you believe are in charge. Change starts with but one person.
